Energy Storage Technical Consultant

This has created a rapidly evolving technology landscape and increased demand for manufacturing processes that are faster, more efficient, and also sustainable. Energetics is hiring an engineer or scientist with industry experience who is familiar with a broad spectrum of technologies as an energy storage consultant. Candidates should have experience in next generation technologies but also in the manufacturing of energy storage materials and devices. Qualified candidates will support the DOE’s Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Office (AMMTO) with analysis, research, reporting, and R&D program support. As part of your work, you’ll gain knowledge about cutting-edge technologies, trends, and policies in the manufacturing sector and contribute to foundational analysis and reporting. This position can be based in any of Energetics’ existing U.S. offices (Washington, D.C.; Columbia, MD; San Diego, CA; Lafayette, CO; or Utica, NY), or anywhere in the United States as a remote telework position. Minimal travel (1-2 trips/year) will be expected. Candidate must be able to legally work in the United States.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- R&D technology research, including synthesizing and presenting technical information for various audiences
- Identifications of technology gaps and challenges.
- Expert insights on market opportunities
- Strategic program management support, including multi-year program planning
- Planning and implementing stakeholder engagement programs and workshops (domestic and international), in person and virtual
- Preparing and delivering project and programmatic briefings
- Task management activities and tracking
- Working closely with program managers and co-workers in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):
- MS in Energy Storage related discipline with 5+ years industry experience (or PhD in Energy Storage related discipline with 2 – 4 years industry experience)
- Industry experience
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
- Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative), problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent organization and time management skills, including ability to multi-task
- Interest and ability to contribute to other energy efficiency and clean energy projects as needed
- Attention to detail
- Successful when working on self-managed tasks
- Team player and self-starter
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Project and/or program management experience
- Consulting experience (private sector or public)
- Federal or state agency experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processed of energy storage, materials, devices or systems
- Stakeholder engagement experience, including leading working groups
