Join our dynamic Corporate Development team. Reporting into the Vice President, Corporate Development this Associate / Senior Associate is a valued member of the Deals Team and will support the origination, due diligence and execution of Life and Annuity M&A and reinsurance deals for Fortitude Re globally. An energetic individual who is a team-player, with strong work ethics and commercial sense, demonstrates intellectual curiosity, a “can-do” attitude, and takes pride in the delivering high quality work product within a fast-paced environment will excel in this role. This role will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office and can work on a hybrid schedule.
What You Will Do:
- Assist day-to-day deals management by working closely with internal functional areas (Legal, Finance, Tax, Investments, Actuarial), external advisors, banks, brokers and intermediaries, as well as leadership team and investors
- Prepare deal presentations and investment memos for internal and external stakeholders, executive management team and investors
- Provide analytical deals support, including but not limited to conducting market research, constructing financial models and other ad-hoc analysis
- Support new business origination and pipeline maintenance in the Life and Annuity M&A and reinsurance space
- Strategy: Partner with senior management team in the both the formal strategic planning process as well as the ongoing evolution of Fortitude’s strategic plan
- Project Support: Further partner with senior management in leading and supporting execution of key enterprise-wide projects, especially those that require collaboration among multiple groups and functions across the firm, including:
- Assist in Board of Directors meeting preparation, including
- Ensuring presentation materials are appropriately tailored to meeting topics and managing presentation logistics
- Information and analysis requests from Fortitude’s Board of Directors
What You Will Have:
- Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or other quantitative field
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience at an insurance / reinsurance company, consulting firm, investment bank or asset manager specialized in the Life and Annuity space
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
