Piano Accompanist

The Brearley School, an independent girls’ school serving over 750 students K-12, welcomes candidates for the position of Accompanist beginning immediately.

Responsibilities include:

●      accompanying two choruses in several weekly rehearsals, both during the school day (8 am - 3 pm) and after school, including performances throughout the academic year

●      accompanying school assemblies and community events throughout the school year during the day and after school

●      accompanying students in recitals during the day and after school

●      serving as pianist for an annual musical production.

The ideal candidate will:

●      hold a Bachelor's or Masters's degree in Piano or Piano Accompanying

●      have excellent sight-reading skills

●      demonstrate a strong interest in accompanying choral ensembles

●      possess competence in anti-racist pedagogy

●      bring to their work a collegial spirit and a sense of humor.

Salary

$70 - $85 per hour, depending on experience, up to 30 hours per month.
