The Brearley School, an independent girls’ school serving over 750 students K-12, welcomes candidates for the position of Accompanist beginning immediately.

Responsibilities include:

      accompanying two choruses in several weekly rehearsals, both during the school day (8 am - 3 pm) and after school, including performances throughout the academic year

      accompanying school assemblies and community events throughout the school year during the day and after school

      accompanying students in recitals during the day and after school

      serving as pianist for an annual musical production.

 

The ideal candidate will:

      hold a Bachelor's or Masters's degree in Piano or Piano Accompanying

      have excellent sight-reading skills

      demonstrate a strong interest in accompanying choral ensembles

      possess competence in anti-racist pedagogy

      bring to their work a collegial spirit and a sense of humor.

Salary

$70 - $85 per hour, depending on experience, up to 30 hours per month.
