Truck - Trailer Technician


Job Summary:

Trailer Technician maintains trailer equipment by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements; correcting deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, and keeping records. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Determines condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules; installing the component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
  • Complies with federal and state requirements.
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; and calling for repairs.
 
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities:


  • Maintains appearance by cleaning, washing, etc.

  • Maintains records by annotating services and repairs.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.

  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical capability testing.
