Senior Industrial Energy Analyst

Energetics is hiring engineers and scientists with industry experience who are interested in contributing at a high level to the important changes that are underway in the manufacturing sector; a sector that consumes approximately 1/3 of total US energy use. “Industry experience” may include any, or even a combination of - metals (steel, aluminum, other), food and beverage, glass, pulp and paper, cement, chemicals, refining, electronics manufacturing. Candidates should have experience in next generation technology R&D and clean energy strategies for industrial decarbonization in the United States. Qualified candidates will support the DOE’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Office (AMMTO) with analysis, research, reporting and R&D program support. A broad range of experience will be valuable for this mid-level industrial energy analyst position. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributing to, and leading, industrial energy and emissions an
- Manufacturing Energy and Carbon Footprints (produced by Energetics for DOE)as an example of industry sectors of study please see these
- R&D technology research, including synthesizing and presenting technical information for various audiences
- Expert insights on market opportunities
- Strategic program management support, including multi-year program planning
- Planning and implementing stakeholder engagement programs and workshops (domestic and international), in person and virtual
- Preparing and delivering project and programmatic briefings
- Work closely with program managers and co-workers in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Contract and task management activities and tracking
- Bachelor’s degree (engineering or science)
- 10 years’ work experience (including internships and co-ops)
- or, 8 years’ experience plus a master’s of postdoctoral degree
- Leadership experience
- Industry experience
- Interest in energy efficiency and clean energy
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
- Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative), problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent organization and time management skills, including ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Successful when working on self-managed tasks
- Team player and self-starter
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Project and/or program management experience
- Consulting experience (private sector or public)
- Federal or state agency experience
- Knowledge of energy efficiency or energy management systems in industrial or commercial facilities
- Stakeholder engagement experience, including leading working groups
