The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Program Aide for the Southern Territory, located in Jackson, TN.
Job Summary
Assists in facilitating and monitoring assigned recreational activities of the Day Camp programs; supervises and provides homework tutoring; transports patrons to and from the Day Camp programs &events; assists in maintaining facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the Day Camp Program Aide job descriptions and ability to implement same. Knowledge of organized group games' standard rules and techniques, such as basketball, kickball, soccer, or football. Knowledge of accepted and safe first aid procedures. Ability to build effective and positive relationships with people of all ages. Ability to lead and motivate people participating in recreational activities. Employees in this position must always meet all DOT requirements for vehicles associated with this position.
High school diploma or G.E.D. and six months experience coaching and supervising athletic events and experience maintaining grounds, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid State Drivers' License.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, equipment, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
