Case Management Specialist/CE Lead
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for Case Management Specialist/CE Lead for the Waco Corps, located in Waco, TX.
Job Summary
The Coordinated Entry Lead case worker works closely with homeless individuals and is responsible for taking the Coordinated Entry lead for Waco & McLennan County Continuum of Care.As CE Lead they ensure the CE assessments are carried out appropriately through training, and assistance and monitoring of local assessors. In addition, this person will serve as a liaison and ambassador to the greater community for Coordinated Entry. CE Lead also leads weekly case conferencing for the local CoC and follows up to ensure clients are receiving appropriate services.
Additionally, CE Lead completes phone and in-person assessments, diversion strategies, and coordinates appropriate referrals including emergency placements to homeless and at-risk of homelessness individuals and families. They will conduct in-person assessments for clients referred to The Salvation Army, ensure clients qualify for one of TSA’s various programs, help gather required documentation, and ensure smooth handoff to TSA Case Managers.

Skilled in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications with the ability to effectively create and maintain spreadsheets.
Ability to interview clients to evaluate and serve their needs.
Ability to determine client eligibility for program assistance based on specific program guidelines and restrictions.
Ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with diverse group of people while remaining sensitive to their concerns.
Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or related human services field,
and
two years’ experience working in a social or public service environment with case work,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid State Drivers License
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Ability to type and keypunch information into a computer.
Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to work on multiple cases simultaneously, effectively and efficiently, without becoming frustrated or disorganized.
Ability to operate various general office equipment including telephone, computer, and calculator.
Duties are usually performed seated, which may be relieved by occasional periods of standing or walking.
Limited physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25lbs).
