The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Social Services Program Coordinator for the Sanford Corps in Sanford, Florida.

Job Summary
Plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors the day-to-day operations of the Social Services Program. Process rent and utility financial assistance for eligible clients, contact utility companies and landlords to arrange and process financial assistance Prepares and maintains case records of services provided. Enter pertinent information into the established Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and or POH (Pathway of Hope). Serves as liaison to other agencies to obtain/coordinate assistance on client's behalf; builds and maintain professional working relationships with community agencies; participates in partnerships with other agencies to facilitate the referral process. Answers telephones in a courteous and tactful manner, responds to client complaints; responds to requests for information regarding to Social Services Program operations and/or services. Assist with Salvation Army special events to include Angel Tree, Toy Shop, Summer Camp, etc. this may include administrative detail, assistance in planning, leading, participating as needed/directed. Maintains grant reports and contract compliance. Prepare monthly statistical report of all services provided for Finance Dept. and monitors the Program's budget.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, or a related social services field.
and Two years progressively responsible experience performing social services work with a least one year in a supervisory capacity, or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications
Valid State Driver’s License

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of crisis intervention. Knowledge of family dynamics and issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
Knowledge of social service resources and agencies in the community. Knowledge of the principles and practices of facility management. Knowledge of effective communication and motivation practices. Knowledge of general office practices and principles.
Ability to prepare and process records and statistics in an accurate and complete manner. Ability to research and prepare grants. Ability to develop program plans and goals based on client's needs. Ability to interview clients and to obtain pertinent information. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete case notes and client records. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines. Ability to interpret social service program regulations in a clear, accurate and friendly manner to clients.
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with member of minority, various cultural and lower-socio-economic group. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with employees, clients, the public or other agencies using a telephone, email, in a face-to-face, on-to-one and in a group setting.

Mental and Physical Abilities:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25lbs.) 5-10 %of the time. Duties are usually performed seated,

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with the changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
