The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit faith-based organization, is now hiring Part-Time Lifeguards for its Aquatic Department to serve the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center located in Greenville, SC.
JOB SUMMARY
Serves as a lifeguard for all pool operations; provides constant surveillance of pool to ensure safety in the Aquatics facility. Maintains appropriate levels of chemical per DHEC regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of life saving techniques.
Ability to supervise swimmers and provide constant surveillance of pool activities in order to ensure swimmer safety and to respond to emergency rescue when needed.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to swim and perform life saving activities.
Ability to lift and/or pull a human through water weighing in the “Heavy” range up to 250 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an indoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with humidity or discomforts associate with noise, chemical odors, and the like.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or G.E.D and two years’ experience working as a lifeguard or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor
Red Cross Certified Lifeguard
