Camp Services Assistant

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Camp Services Assistant for Camp Hoblitzelle, located in Midlothian, Texas.  

Job Summary

Assists in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks; cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes; sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors; assists in all areas of the seasonal operation of camp as assigned by the Divisional Youth Secretary, Assistant Divisional Youth Secretary and the Divisional Corps Cadet Counselor.   
 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques. Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of meals. Ability to wash dishes and kitchen appliances. Ability to clean kitchen, dining and lodging areas.

Education and Experience

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: None.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability and willingness to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting. Physical ability to lift and carry light objects (less than 25 lbs.). WORKING CONDITIONS: Works is performed where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens and cold freezers and in a normal camp environment.
