Job Summary

·      Execute the demand planning processes for new, mature and end of life products for assigned customer(s) to align with the targets for safety, customer fill rate, working capital and plant productivity.

·      Execute the supply planning process that is aligned with the targets for safety, customer fill rate, working capital and plant productivity.

 

Demand planning responsibilities and duties

·     Create and carry out product demand plans in order to meet organizational objectives for safety, customer fill rate, working capital and plant productivity.

·      Develop seasonal demand forecasts and anticipating customer reactions to promotions and price changes.

·      Create demand forecasts based on demand patterns, business trends and customer supplied information. This include product life cycle management of new, mature and end of life product planning.

·      Measure and improve forecast accuracy by collaborating with the sales team, product team, finance and planning team.

·      Collaborate via the SIOP process to ensure demand plans meet the sales teams needs, required service levels, working capital targets, plant productivity targets and safety targets.

·      Assist with risk assessment and mitigation.

·      Inform / escalate to management product availability issues

·      Communicate forecast changes / updates to management.

·      Provide information on customer / product line / items that are over / under selling to forecasts.

·      Maintain all systems as needed to meet the above listed responsibilities

 

Supply Planning responsibilities and duties

 

·      Execute the supply planning process that is aligned with the targets for safety, customer fill rate, working capital and plant productivity.

·      Trigger seasonal / promotional inventory builds / burns that meet the plant capacity needs.

·      Communicate / escalate supply / product availability issues to management.

·      Provide Inventory projects for finished goods on a rolling 12-month basis and measure monthly plan vs actual.

·      Collaborate via the SIOP process to ensure inventory meet the sales teams’ needs, required service levels working capital targets, plant productivity targets and safety targets.

·      Assist with risk assessment and mitigation.

·      Provide capacity plans on a rolling 12-month basis, and alternatives as needed.

·      Balance plant capacity to meet the needs of safety, customer fill rate, working capital and plant productivity.

·       Update safety stocks, network strategies and order quantities based on changing item volumes / patterns.

·      Rebalance inventory between distribution centers as needed to support customer fill rates.

·      Provide feedback to customer service & sales on recovery / in stock dates on back-order or cancelled items

·      Maintain all systems as needed to meet the above listed responsibilities

 

 

Qualification and Skills

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.

A thorough understanding of inventory management practices and procedures is preferred.

This role requires a demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods, as well as a strong understanding of their financial and operational implications.

APICS / ASCM certifications are a plus

Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to condense complex issues

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skillset is preferred.
