Material Handling Operator Equipment

• Day shift: 8 hour shift M-F (will transition to a 12 hour shift working 4 on 4 off)

What you will be doing

• Operating a Railcar mover -we provide training and certification!
• Using a Railcar mover to sort cars on the tracks to prepare for unloading activities
• Visually inspecting rail cars and performing air brake inspections
• Connecting steam lines to rail cars and monitoring temperature
• Unloading feedstock from rail cars using pumps and control systems
• Cross training and being willing to assist in the different functions performed at the facility
• Participating in and promoting Savage safety program

Requirements of a successful Renewable Diesel Operator    

• Ability to perform basic maintenance
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to attend and pass all training associated with job related coursework.  This includes but is not limited to:  OSHA, HazMat and FRA related courses.
• Willingness to wear required PPE
• Ability to work Holidays as required
• Clear drug / alcohol test / criminal background check 
• Rail Industry and/or rail unloading/loading experience is a plus
• Work experience in an industrial environment
• Valid driver’s license
• Savage is a Military Friendly Employer - Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
• A high school diploma, or equivalent

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Comfortable with heights up to 30 feet
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Work on and around railcars to connect hoses, steam lines and other equipment
