Savage Services is hiring an Electrician (TME) primary responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduled preventive maintenance on fixed electrical equipment, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment problems and controls, and miscellaneous facility maintenance activities, i.e.; general labor duties, but not limited to clean-up of equipment, work areas and grounds, and operate mobile equipment.  The TME will report directly to the Electrician Technician with oversight by the Operations Manager.

   Responsibilities / Job Duties:   

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities on fixed electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical instrumentation problems as they arise and repair or replace as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and controls.
  • Troubleshoot Programmable Logical Controller (PLC) and field device systems.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members outside of the electrical department, including operations team members, mechanical personnel, coordinators, and management to ensure the overall success of the operation.
  • Must have a good understanding of customer service, sense of urgency, and callout expectations.
  • Must be willing and able to respond to emergency callouts outside the normal work hours in accordance with the workplace agreement.
  • Occasionally lift/push/pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Routinely climb stairs, ladders and work at various heights.
  • Wear a respirator and all required personal protective equipment (job dependent)
  • Participate in all daily/monthly safety and communications meetings.
  • Shovel, sweep, and wash with hoses as directed.
  • Complete other duties as directed.


  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Follow written and verbal directions.
  • Work in a team environment, follow company rules, and take direction from supervisors.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and understand a worker’s right to stop work when potential safety hazards threaten oneself or others or damage to company assets.
  • Work a Monday-Thursday, 0600-1600 shift.
  • Work alternate work schedules or a workweek in excess of 40 hours and/or a workday beyond a regularly scheduled shift as directed.
  • Fulfill physical functions as per the Position Performance Needs (PPN).
  • Learn new technology as it adapted to existing and new equipment.
  • Become familiar with local policies and procedures.
  • Familiar with rotating, fixed, and conveying equipment.
  • Possess prior industrial electrical experience.
  • Demonstration of skills and abilities may be required.
  • Possess and perform basic computer skills/functions & learn the ManagersPlus, S7i delivery system.
  • Possess effective interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be willing and motivated to learn additional skill sets as directed.
  • Class C Driver's License required.


  • Licensed electrician
  • High School or GED


Physical Requirements:

This position works in an indoor and outdoor environment with minimal to high concentrations of coal dust. Must be able to work in extreme weather such as; wind, heat, and cold. Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position:

  • Work at heights as well as climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Lifting or moving objects over 50 pounds must be accomplished by either using extra manpower or machine-assisted lifting techniques. 
  • Perform electrical work in confined and tight spaces.
  • Required to wear proper personal protective equipment as environment and the position dictates.
  • Required to pass annual OSHA respirator and pulmonary function tests.
