About The Position:
 

The Hemlocks Center of Oak Hill is seeking part time Rental Assistants to staff private rental events. The ideal candidate will possess experience in customer service, hospitality, sales, or event planning and management (meetings, conferences, parties, weddings and/or other special events). Rental staff are responsible for the set up/ break down of all rental events and reset of the facility. The Rental Assistant shifts may include opportunities to work morning, day, evenings and weekends for events. The Rental Assistant will be required to setup and break down for private rental events. The Rental Assistant will ensure The Hemlocks Center property is safeguarded before, during, and after all rental events and will assist with making sure all event activities comply with policies and procedures. The Hemlocks Center Rental Assistant reports to The Hemlocks Center Manager. This individual will have contact with internal and external parties.


Qualification Requirements: 
 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The responsibilities of the rentals staff will include the following:
  2. The set up/ break down of all rental events and reset of the facility.
  3. Setting up and/or breaking down tables and chairs.
  4. Cleaning, vacuuming, spot cleaning, picking up litter, sweeping, mopping.
  5. Moving furniture; making and stripping bed linens; minor groundskeeping and upkeep.
  6. Setting up required technology.
  7. Setting up requested food service; pre and post event facility cleaning; and taking out trash to the dumpster and recycling areas.
  8. For event days, perform routine checks of restrooms; maintain cleanliness of the overall facility; assist renters with any problems or questions; assist with signage and lobby items; assist with parking and directions; keep guests in designated areas; make sure the rental facility is safe at all times; make sure that all rental policies are maintained; facilitate and help with nightly facility cleanup and other duties, as needed.
  1. Assist The Hemlocks Center Manager with rental management and preparing facility for special event use.
  2. Under supervision of The Hemlocks Center Manager, the Rental Assistant will staff scheduled events to ensure that events run smoothly.
  3. Facility cleaning (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, garbage removal, laundry) in main building, out buildings and cabins.
  4. Inventory tracking and control. Compile reports for management, including number of attendees at events; inventory supplies before and after events.
  5. Tasks may include taking inventory, stock bathrooms/other programmatic areas.
  6. Maintain and organize rental spaces, including set up for events and closing down afterward.
  7. Rental Assistant is required to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
