Segra is searching for a dynamic NOC Analyst I to work in Charlotte, NC.  The NOC Analyst I will perform monitoring of the Segra SONET, DWDM, IP and Ethernet networks.  This position provides in depth support of the Segra Networks Transport, IP, and Ethernet Networks, and voice services.

This is a hybrid role:  Employee’s must come into the Charlotte office 2 times a week and work one weekend day. 

We are currently hiring for 2nd shift. 

The successful NOC Analyst I will have knowledge of the following technologies: Carrier transport circuit technologies such as Ethernet over Copper ( EOC/EFM), ADSI, T1’s, fiber services (DWDM) and Metro-Ethernet. Network design, routing, DNS, IP, subnetting; TCP/IP routing protocols, (BGP, OSFP, RIP and EIGRP); Proxy service and Firewalls.

The NOC Analyst I will serve as the first line of defense for monitoring and management of all Segra core, distribution, and carrier last mile customer premise voice and data installations across Segra’s network.  The NOC Analyst is responsible for researching and documenting various mitigation strategies and must maintain current knowledge of deployed technologies and their significance of the operation of the network and support of all customers.  The NOC Analyst must be able to prioritize remediation of issues in as 24 x 7 Network Operations Center. 

The NOC Analyst I will have a High School diploma or equivalent.  Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.  Vendor certifications are preferred but not required (BTI, Cisco, Cienna Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, VeloCloud, etc). 
They will have 1-2 years’ experience working in a network operations support role.  Experience/training on voice and data communication networks and the individual elements within those networks, data/wireless communications principles.
