The Data Center Site Manager has oversight and management responsibility for all DCIM/IT Support Specialists at a particular company site. This person also provides oversight and management for other company sites as needed. The Site Manager works in conjunction with other Team Leads and Site Managers to ensure customer and employee experience continuity.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages staff to ensure proper coverage for shift personnel, approves timecards and arranges coverage for PTO/holidays/sick days.
  • Works alongside upper management on enterprise-level planning and applications.
  • Works closely with management counterparts and upper management to improve current processes and procedures.
  • Recruits, interviews and trains new hires.
  • Coaches team on documentation, customer service, phone & e-mail etiquette, etc.
  • Performs QA reviews. Reports on calls answered, talk time, tickets closed & work time.
  • Assists DCIM/IT Support staff as an escalation point.
  • Performs DCIM/IT Support Specialist duties as necessary.
  • Handles other day-to-day tasks as assigned by management.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Associate’s Degree (AA) or Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or five to seven years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Experience:  
    • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
    • Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • Computer Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Additional Skills and Proficiencies
    • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various OS (Mac OS, Windows Server OS, and distros of Linux a plus)
    • Experience with Active Directory Management
    • Fundamental understanding of basic network functionality and troubleshooting concepts
    • Fundamental understanding of networking and security
    • Basic knowledge of virtual environments

    • Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interrupt written information.
    • Attendance - Adheres to regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
