Summary/Objective: Responsibilities include a variety of accounting tasks in accounts payable and job cost, with support of other accounting and projects departments.


Essential Functions:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, related area, or equivalent experience of 5 years.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Perform a variety of general accounting tasks, including, but not limited to;
  • Accounts payable entry,
  • Maintenance of accounts payable vendor data and compliance,
  • Statement review,
  • Verifying accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or record,
  • Compile data and run weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required by Finance and Operations,
  • Certified payroll management,
  • Backup and support for payroll,
  • Billing and AR responsibilities,
  • Subcontractor payment, lien waiver and compliance responsibilities,
  • Certificate of Insurance compliance,
  • Credit card management,
  • Any other special projects or duties as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Clerical – Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
  • Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Computers – Knowledge of computer software, including applications.
  • Administration and Management – Basic knowledge of business and management principles, and resource allocation.
  • Writing – Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Speaking – Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Time Management – Managing one’s own time as it relates to the position and duties.
  • Service Orientation – Actively looking for way to help people.
  • Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Judgment and Decision Making – Considering the benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Monitoring – Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself to make improvements or take corrective action as it relates to the position and duties.

Education/Experience:
Degree preferred but not required. Degree in business Administration or Accounting or related area, or equivalent experience of 5 years.


Physical demands:

  • For office: Largely sedentary, some walking, bending, standing and lifting to 25 lbs.
  • Able to work on computer for extended periods of time.
