The Experiential Marketing & Promotions Manager should have a passion for delivering unique experiences for sponsors and consumers through integrated marketing campaigns and event execution. This person will oversee the local marketing programs, and development and execution of a portfolio of consumer, business and internal events. These marketing programs and events are designed to create opportunities to engage with our brands and sponsors.


This role requires a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a keen eye for detail. A successful candidate is a creative problem solver who can plan and execute marketing campaigns and experiential activations that achieve results for sponsors and memorable experiences for consumers while maintaining a strict budget that drives profitability. This candidate will be able to oversee and execute successful and engaging marketing campaigns and programming throughout various corporate and local initiatives.
 

RESPONSIBLITIES         

  • Manage, develop and execute marketing campaigns supporting Madison.com, Wisconsin State Journal and The Capital Times.
  • Development of new experiential marketing concepts and manage the planning and execution of existing and new interactive consumer events.
  • Manage event production including P&L reporting, invoice processing, vendor setup, contract negotiation, detailed budget tracking, production schedules, permits, venue and talent booking, ticketing and sponsor activation planning.
  • Work closely with graphic designers on the production of creative elements required for consumer marketing and sales (B2B) campaigns. 
  • Inspire sponsor sales through creative packaging of media assets and event activations.
  • Oversee and manage marketing content production and display on various digital and print publications.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A self-starter that enjoys a fast-paced environment while prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Creative problem solver that remains calm under pressure
  • Proven success developing experiences and campaigns based on marketing strategy and program objectives.
  • Experience with cross-functional project and communication plans.
  • Examples of successfully working with a team on creative, content and technical requirements on events and campaigns that drive awareness and engagement.
  • Media sales planning including sponsor asset packaging and presentation development.
  • Proficient at communications with management, vendors, sponsors and consumers.
  • Proficient communications skills including copywriting, attention to detail and grammar skills to be able to effectively convey direct and meaningful marketing messages to the target audience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience working on event planning and logistics management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed for events that may occur outside of regular business hours. Events typically total 10 per year with opportunity for growth.
  • Strong technical skills to set up ticketing, digital promotion and support virtual event platforms.
  • Proven success in contract negotiation and profitability calculation for vendor management and sponsorship.
