The Arizona Daily Star, a Lee Enterprises company, is seeking a sports editor to lead an award-winning department in a dynamic, sports-crazy Pac-12 market. If you enjoy producing content yourself, this is a perfect opportunity to be a player-coach. The Star’s next sports editor will also have experience strategizing digital presentation, editing content from breaking news to award-winning enterprise, planning coverage, supervising, editing, scheduling and evaluating writers, seeing the holes in coverage, taking advantage of opportunities to grow digital audience, and interacting with readers, including connecting through social media. A strong working knowledge of sports is necessary. So is working well with others in a team environment.
