Programmer/Analyst II – Data Solutions


The Programmer/Analyst II (Data Access Layer (DAL) Developer) provides simplified access to data stored in databases or other persistent storage by designing, developing, configuring, deploying, and supporting data access layer solutions along with their integration into front-end applications with minimal supervision. You will also be responsible for the modeling of databases. This position works with the DALs, DBAs, development staff and others in an agile organization toward the goal of providing necessary business functionality.


Required Experience:



  • Advanced understanding of SQL and NoSQL technologies

  • E/R Studio and other modeling tools

  • Data mapping, modeling, and architecture

  • Creation and deployment of complex queries and procedures


What you will do:



  • Be part of a high performing, collaborative team delivering data access layer solutions on an Agile team.

  • Develop and support data access layer components from project specifications such as stored procedures, views and reports.

  • Develops DB models for new and existing applications

  • Write T-SQL code, supply test data, and debug coding problems

  • Technically lead and professionally mentor peers

  • Lead projects, service requests and project sub-teams when required

  • Troubleshoot operational problems and restore to nominal condition

  • Manage multiple commitments and prioritize based on management feedback

  • Effectively coordinate efforts with colleagues

  • Help determine, maintain, and track project schedules, tasks, and progress

  • Complete assignments while keeping impact on related tasks and the overall solution in mind

  • Facilitate group discussions and encourage teamwork for improved performance

  • Develop test plans and create migration scripts for technical projects as requested

  • Conduct all phases of unit and system testing

  • Coordinate and/or contribute to installation efforts

  • Understands, follows and helps enforce software development lifecycle practices

  • Evaluate project results and provide feedback to management

  • Self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision

  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment


Education and/or Experience



  • Minimum Experience: 5 or more years of related professional experience


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:


The following are preferred but not required because we value employees with a willingness to learn.



  • MongoDB experience/certification

  • Azure Cloud experience/certification

  • Mentor and develop more junior developers

  • DevOps/CICD

  • Agile methodologies
