CNC operator is an entry level position into CNC machining and requires no previous CNC experience. Starting pay(including shift differential) can range from: $16.50 to $19.01 + $1.00 for working 2nd or 3rd shift. As the manufacturing industry evolves more automated processes, CNC machining has become a highly sought after skill. Working as a CNC operator you are responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining a CNC production line in a highly automated environment. This is a position that requires great attention to detail. Much of your day will be spent performing quality inspections to ensure that each and every part produced is perfect. One of the many things that makes this role so important is that often you will be the last person that handles the part before the customer. This means you are the last line of defense when it comes to quality.

ESSENTIAL GOALS, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Operate machining equipment per specifications.

·       Review SWAT charts at the beginning of each shift to determine if a deviation has been added or any changes have been made.

·       Pick up all parts not in process flow (they are considered scrap and should be scrapped at the beginning of each shift).

·       Inform Shift Manager or Production Manager of any trash or parts left behind by previous shift.

·       Perform gauging during shift as designated by SWAT Chart.

·       Follow SWAT charts and online gauging instructions unless a deviation is attached.

·       Inform Shift Manager or Production Manager of downtime and scrap levels above designated threshold.

·       Complete paperwork including rework, re-inspection, and leak-test operations.

·       Complete hour by hour boards.

·       Achieve expected parts per hour (EPH).

·       Follow all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.

·       Follow all Quality Policy and Environmental Policy guidelines.

·       Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to established Gibbs 7-S Guidelines .

·       Able to work weekends and overtime as required.

·       Maintain regular and punctual attendance, in accordance with scheduled work hours, and overtime(OT) as assigned.

·       Meet all physical and environmental requirements.

·       Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Certifications:

Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training

Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
