   POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director provides leadership and oversight for assigned Preventive Service Programs.  He/She has responsibility for the clinical, operational, fiscal and administrative functioning of assigned programs. The Senior Director supervises assigned Program Directors and works closely with program staff and other preventive directors.  He/She supports and implements the agency’s initiatives and projects; this includes continuous quality improvement outcomes work.  Depending on the size and structure of assigned programs, the Senior Director may also function as the Program Director of 1 or more Preventive Service Program(s). The Senior Director will work effectively with State and other regulatory bodies, community providers and internal agency programs.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Provide ongoing supervision to assigned directors.
  • Visit program sites to monitor compliance with regulatory standards and staff wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with inter agency departments on programmatic, fiscal and human resources related issues
  • Ensure programmatic systems are in place to meet client service delivery needs.
  • Assists programs in utilizing established, effective interventions to achieve defined and meaningful outcomes
  • Provides leadership and vision to assist programs in achieving goals, continually improving performance and meeting challenges proactively and effectively
  • Periodically review chart documentation to ensure progress notes meets regulatory standards 
  • Ensures appropriate training and supervision is provided to all staff; may develop and provide training
  • Respond to opportunities to expand service delivery options.
  • Help develop and implement  new programs, projects and initiatives
  • Ensures relationships with partners and community groups (family voice) are established and maintained.
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ensures development and adherence to program budgets and maintains programs’ fiscal viability
  • Responsible for risk management, including identifying, addressing and tracking high risk in clients     and program operations
  • Performs all other duties assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Master’s Degree in in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related subject area.
  • NYS Clinical License, including LMSW, LCSW, LCAT, LMHC, or LMFT.   LCSW preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3 years of experience as a Director OR
  • 5 years of experience as an Assistant Director or like title in a child welfare program AND
  • 3 years of experience as a Supervisor in a relevant setting, preferably preventive services or in a program utilizing an EBM used by preventive services
