ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Staten Island Clinic is an outpatient mental health clinic that provides psychiatric services to children 0-18 and adults. The Jewish Board is one of two clinics that services children and adolescents on Staten Island; a community that is limited in behavioral health resources. Services include individual, family, couples and group therapy as well medication management. The population served faces challenges and impaired functioning related to diagnoses such as: PTSD, Bi-Polar Disorder, MDD, Generalized Anxiety, ADHD, Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
ABOUT THE JOB
As part of the clinical team you will provide care to people who are experiencing a wide range of behavioral health issues. Services for adults and children include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, crisis intervention, and clinical consultation to the treatment team. As a psychiatric care practitioner, you will be responsible for:

Providing psychiatric services which includes the following: provision of a full psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, medication management and follow up
coordination with the clinical team. - Participating in shared decision making with the client and the clinical team
TO QUALIFY

- A Nurse Practitioner degree with specialized training or experience in psychiatry.
- A current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in NYS.
- A current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- ANCC certification/pending application.
- NYS OPRA status and a Health Commerce Account at the onset of employment
- Specialization with specific populations (such as child/adolescent) or settings and language competency for the population served may also be required.
