Job Summary: Assist in the total erection of precast, prestressed hollowcore planking.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Includes the following, other duties may be assigned):
Extensive travel and overnight-stays required.
Participate in daily safety / project site meetings.
Communicate, direct, guide delivering trucks into position for off-loading of precast concrete.
Off-loading of precast concrete from delivering trucks using cable slings.
Communicate with other crew members on sequencing.
Visually and orally communicate with the crane operator to lift, lower and position the precast into position.
Manually place dunnage to set the product on, as required.
Manually make small adjustments to the final position of the precast for placement or site storage.
Guide precast concrete into position onto the building structure using hand signals or communication with radios.
Saw cut/ notch precast concrete to fit structure.
Use a breaker bar to aid in removal of concrete debris.
Push, pull or bar precast concrete into final position.
Saw cut openings through precast concrete or to accommodate base plates and/ or connections.
Drill, Powder Actuated Shot, Place, Tie and/or Weld reinforcing bar.
Grout keyed joints; push grout filled wheel barrows, pull brout filled boxes, scrape precast concrete surface to level surface, trowel finish surface, broom clean precast concrete surface.
Grind. Chip and/ Patch precast concrete surfaces to acceptable finishes.
Assist crane operator in breaking down and demobilization of crane.
Use, service and maintain various hand tools, including power tools that are assigned to the erection crew.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds unaided. Push/pull 150 pounds unaided.
Using shovels & brooms to clean concrete debris and other debris throughout project site. Operate and use weed eaters, push type lawn mowers, riding mowers, other hand held landscaping tools.
Assist in the maintenance of the weed eater and lawn mowers using various hand tools and grease guns.
Assist plant mechanics in maintenance of the plant using various hand and power tools and grease guns.
General housekeeping in the shop areas, restrooms, lunch room and throughout the plant.
Constantly work in outdoor weather conditions.
Operates site equipment such as scissor lift, skid steer.
Load scrap, dunnage, and excess materials on trucks / trailers for return to plant. Off-load to storage upon return to plant.
When not field erection, will work in plant under job description HCLABR - Laborer.
