Job Title : DEX by Gate Sales Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Sales Manager will generate revenue by educating owners, designers, engineers, and contractors while qualifying potential projects. This position is responsible for analyzing bid documents, recording precast concrete material types and quantitites, preparing accurate cost statements based upon company standards and guidelines, writing and submitting proposals that are job specific based on cost estimates before scheduled due date.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs confidence in the market place, standing behind its value proposition, quality, service, technology design assist and financial capabilities.


• Intitiates the sales process by scheduling appointments and making presentations, and understanding and influencing design requirements.


• Works closley with plant operations staff and attends weekly meetings at plant when available.


• Market our systems capabilities


• Expand sales in the design community by introducing new products and aid in developing new applications.


• Close sales by working closely with management staff during the estimating and bidding process with potential accounts.


• Provide support and training to other sales staff within all Gate Precast


• Actively pursues all opportunities within the region


• Network by participating in construction oriented educational opportunties and PCI/ASTM regional organizations


• Demonstrates strong analytical and presentation skills


• Interface with engineering group to request quality take-offs and building parameters


• Create and assembly project budgets and parameters for team review. Review estimated cost for errors.


• Prepare project proposals for bidding using company standards and guidelines. Cost estimates are comprised of five basic categories: production, drafting and engineering, logistics, miscellaneous cost


• Attend project kick-off meetings after awarded as required.


• Prepare and negotiate contracts/quotations for awarded projects


• Establish and maintain and good rapport with general contractors


• Encourage the use of DEX by Gate concrete products to architects, engineers and owners.


• Develop a shop drawing/contract approval schedule to minimize delays on each project


• Must be willing to do job site visits if required


• Perform other duties as generally or specifically assisgned


• Create and assemble project budgets and parameters for team review. Review estimated cost for errors.


• Coordinate with operations and deliver required samples per clients request


• Manage and Maintain Dex by Gate sample room.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to successfully engage all levels of customer base


• Action-oriented. Acts with a sense of urgency, and with the end-result in mind. Prioritizes workload and uses time effectively


• High sales aptitude, self-motivated. Proven sales skills, abilities and effective closing techniques


• Proficiency at reading structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and basic commercial and residential building design.


• Good oral and written communication skills


• Ability to use a calculator and computer


• Familiar with PCI and ACI design requirements to be able to converse effectively with designers, estimators and projet leadership


• Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences


• Overnight travel may be required


• Time Management


• Ability to formulate and calculate mathematical expressions to obtain the desired quantity


• Clean driving record


• Proficient in MS Suite

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, training and education


• Requires valid driver license and clean driving record


• Previous Sales/Estimating experience required


• Precast or construction industry experience preferred


• Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications manuals


• Drafting knowledge preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Requires both indoor and outdoor work


• Occasional overnight travel


• May Require climbing on buildings during jobsite visits


• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer


• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs at times


• Must be able to wear PPE in production facility and/or at jobsites, Hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, hearing protection and vest
