Tool Room Attendant

Job Title:              Tool Room Attendant   

Department:         Purchasing

Reports to:           Purchasing Agent   

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager with managing stock in the tool room, performing basic housekeeping and maintenance duties throughout the plant.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms
• Sweeping, cleaning, disinfecting common areas
• Collecting and properly disposing of trash
• Deliver ordered items to departments
• Assist in tool room by issuing tools and items needed by supervisors and employees
• Perform additional duties as requested or required

Education and Experience:

• Experience in carpentry, mold building set up preferred
• Knowledge in use of hand tools
• Be creative, eager to learn and have good work ethic
• Must be safety conscious
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Gate standards as needed
• Willingness and ability to work as a team player
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, and walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position.

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as laced up ankle steel toe laced up ankle work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
