Housekeeping- JANITOR

JOB TITLE: Janitor

DEPARTMENT: Production Plant

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Reports to: Plant Assistant Manager

Job Summary: Disinfect and sanitize all common high touch areas twice a day. This includes all high touch surfaces in the Plant Breakroom, Plant Bathrooms, Main Plant area, and Plant Supervisor’s offices. Weekly cleaning of Front Admin office.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Keeping areas maintained and in good condition
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting
• Wiping down and sanitizing surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Clean, sanitize, and stock bathrooms
• Maintain cleaning supply inventory
• Organize janitorial storage areas
• Maintain outdoor grounds by removing unwanted debris
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Follow safety procedures and comply with policies
• Notify Supervisor about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance

• Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
• Able to use basic cleaning equipment
• Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments
• Ability to follow directions from Supervisor and Tool Room Attendant (Black Hat)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arm; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, back brace, forearm shields, and safety vests. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
