Assistant Vice President, Reinsurance Operations & Integration
What You Will Do:
- Manage the onboarding of reinsurance deals/transactions from due diligence through closing and transition to business-as-usual processing,
- Coordinate with counterparties and our internal support functions across Information Technology, Finance, Operations, Actuarial, Investments and the New Business teams.
- Oversee continuing ongoing operational oversight to ensure effective and efficient support of inforce reinsurance business from an operations perspective.
- Supervise and coach a team of senior associates and associates and manage their day to day responsibilities with the broader AVP/VP Ops leaders.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and enable a high-performing team
- Oversee the reinsurance operations systems & processes, including coordination of counterparty settlement & reporting requirements and operational support to controls and financial reporting requirements.
- Simplify, streamline and document operational and integration processes and playbooks.
- Work with Operations leaders to define our model reinsurance office, including project management of gaps, solutions implementation, KPIs etc.
- Project management of other operational and strategic initiatives.
- University degree, MBA or Graduate Degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience within re/insurance.
- Expertise in re/insurance transactions structures, processes, systems and controls.
- Experience leading time sensitive client facing projects and proven experience in successful execution.
- Strong problem solving, and analytical skills and ability to look at all matters creatively and with ingenuity.
- Possess project management, business and collaboration skills, and be responsive to service needs and operational demands.
- Interest in/Ability to lead and coach senior associates and associates.
- Proven track record of liaising with a diverse team across multiple departments.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and ability to meet tight deadlines and respond to changing priorities
- Detail oriented, organized, motivated and results oriented.
- Proven ability to work independently.
The base salary range for this role is $118,000-$146,000 and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
