Job Purpose:
The Fire Management Field Technical Representative (FTR) role exists to support company aircraft in performing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft assigned to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft, assuring aircraft is available for customer flight missions on an on-going basis
- Maintenance company aircraft and equipment to the highest standard
- Assist other company FTR as needed or instructed
- Responsible for booking own travel and lodging details and providing travel paperwork and receipts to complete expense reports
- Independently develop work schedules and assignments to accomplish job responsibilities
- Responsible for communicating aircraft status, maintenance expenses, changing location, monthly inventory, and AOG situations to Maintenance Control and Maintenance Operation Manager
- Act as a customer service representative with tasks as requested by management and assist pilots with aircraft servicing pre/post flights
- Communicate critical information to company headquarters, establish relationships with other service providers at each location the plane is stationed
- Maintain parts inventory with aircraft and report all parts received from VBW and other vendors and order parts for upcoming maintenance
- Schedule maintenance on company service vehicles
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- FAA A&P certificate required
- 1 year of King Air and Pratt & Whitney maintenance experience required
- Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record required
- Ability to travel and make travel arrangements on short term notice for movement from one location to another
- Ability to remain away from home location for extended periods of time based on customer needs
- Highly resourceful
- Computer skills including email and submission of detail maintenance and flight information
- Self-starter
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work a schedule that varies (including weekends) depending on the flight schedule of the plane
- Good teamwork, strong initiative, communication, problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills
- Valid passport
- High school diploma or GED required
- Able to work under austere conditions
