This position is with our company Fab-Tech, which manufactures PermaShield Pipe (PSP®), a revolutionary hybrid fluoropolymer coated stainless steel duct system recognized worldwide as the premier solution for corrosive and hazardous fume exhaust needs. PermaShield Pipe is a fully engineered, modular fume exhaust system that combines the reliability of stainless steel with the superior corrosion resistance of Fab-Tech's proprietary PermaShield Fluoropolymer Barrier Coating. PSP carries a highly regarded FM4922 approval as well.

JOB SUMMARY

An entry-level position in a production environment with no prior experience required but experience in GTAW or GMAW preferred. In this area you’ll be responsible for building inventory that is applied to our product line during fabrication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under close supervision you’ll be introduced to a series of duties and responsibilities with increasing complexity to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Set up work area, select and verify the materials and equipment for production, and meet daily production and quality demands in such specific areas as: grinding; rolling; punching; welding; cutting; etc.

• Comply with health, safety (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensures the cleanliness of the area.

• Work in a team environment.

• Continue to learn and expand one’s own capacity within this job by increasing knowledge and skill base.

• Comply with established production philosophies designed to increase production, safety and/or quality; e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 5s and TWI methodologies.

• Perform various other assignments per Lead or Supervisor direction.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Strong mechanical ability

• Willingness to gain proficiency in using angle iron forming and punching equipment

• Willingness to operate a forklift after proper training.

• Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

• Basic understanding of welding and a willingness to learn further.

• Can accurately read a tape measure to 1/32"

• Willingness to work in other areas as needed

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, sitting, and use of hands in this support role is required

• Specific vision abilities required to include close vision, and ability to adjust focus

• Occasionally perform physical activities including lifting (up to 50 lbs. unassisted)

The noise level in the production area is usually moderately loud. The Ring department is a sectioned off area of the production floor. Various grinding, cutting and welding tasks are performed within the Ring department.

• Safety glasses and hearing protection are required when in the production area

• PPE covering eyes and skin is required when welding or heat induced cutting

• PPE covering hands and face is required when grinding

• PPE specific to tasks being performed is required
