This position is with our company Nuance Systems, which is a total solution provider where our expertise applies to the Semiconductor, Solar LED and other disruptive high-tech markets. We excel in ampoule (bubble) design & fabrication and in manufacturing turnkey Integrated Systems.

SUMMARY: Manage the supply chain as relates to procurement, inventory control and logistics for products used for manufacturing

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Supplier set up and contract negotiations to maintain robust supply chain.
  • Inventory Management/planning
  • Manage and monitor purchasing activities to ensure proper purchases are made.
  • Manage and monitor purchasing personnel.
  • Reporting activities and performance to senior level management.
  • Equipment purchases.
  • Raw material management and supplier assignments.
  • AP support.
  • Trainer for Use of ERP System and buying related processes.
  • Use of ERP system.
  • Plan and implement logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met.
  • Oversee product storage, handling, and distribution.
  • Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analyzing performance.
  • Cost management
  • Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process.
  • Manage and minimize the risks that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with other departments to close operational gaps.
  • Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.
  • Train and mentor employees, including reinforcement of safety guidelines.

 

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage Purchasing team, Inventory Control and Shipping/Receiving personnel.

Education and/or experience

  • Operational experience and construction of OEM equipment.
  • 5+ years’ experience.
  • Skillful in or knowledgeable understanding of the following areas: process steps and milestones, interaction with the customer and internal company personnel in a professional manner.

Language skills

  • Experience setting, communicating, and achieving goals.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Ability to write status reports and general business correspondence; present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical skills and analyze performance trends in data; Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving and decision-making tools and methods.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies and provide solutions; Ability to identify problems, collect information, establish facts, and suggest solutions; Ability to develop and support conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and move material. The employee frequently is required to walk, bend, lift and use arms, hands and fingers to reach, lift, handle, and feel products.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move products up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases, although for the most part the environment is usually quiet.  Safety glasses and other required protection should be worn when out in the shop area.
