This I&C Tech-III position is responsible for meter technician duties and instrument system maintenance activities in downtown Omaha. The candidate will assist in providing uninterrupted customer service and plant support in a safe and productive manner. This position holder is expected to be a demonstrated competent instrumentation technician that can inspect, test, troubleshoot, configure, repair, calibrate and commission instrumentation related to customer metering service delivery, measuring, and controlling plant operations.

This position will be based in the Main Plant.

 

Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas

 

 

·This position requires ability to interact and communicate professionally with contractors working for and customers of Cordia

 

·Technical aptitude to perform instrumentation maintenance/operational tasks as required.

 

·Position requires performing clean-up, general maintenance, calibrations, and documentation.

 

·Organize/re-stock supplies and inventory for metering systems.

 

·Provide day to day communication to supervisor with respect to ongoing projects

 

·Establishes the highest standards of business conduct, discipline, and ethical behavior to ensure continuing compliance with company policies and procedures

 

·Position requires use of hand tools and power tools in a safe manner to complete projects

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

 

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

·Ability to learn and improve Cordia Omaha metering systems and PLC control and monitoring systems

 

·Computer skills and aptitude to learn required database systems and training modules

 

·Ability to coordinate numerous activities under stress with poise and complete safely

 

·Possess knowledge of operations and maintenance for efficient and effective production

 

·Previous experience with industrial HVAC, steam boilers and auxiliary equipment a plus

 

·Demonstration of a strong safety-first culture and attitude

 

·Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, and motivational

 

·Ability and willingness to lead and train coworkers to fully realize maximum team potential

 

·Strong background in MS Office suite applications especially Excel.

 

·Awareness of project scheduling software, develop work plans and maintenance schedules

 

·Knowledge of district energy systems

 

Experience & Education

 

·High School Diploma or Equivalent with secondary Automation or Electronics Degree preferred.

 

·Experience working in or around industrial power/energy plant or utilities

 

·2 years’ experience working directly with contractors and vendors

 

·Experience adhering to OSHA and Cordia safety policies and environmental compliance

 

·Proven safety and attendance records

 

·5 years’ experience required of demonstrated Electrical aptitude

 

·5 years’ experience required of demonstrated PLC knowledge Allen-Bradley preferred.

 

·2 years’ experience required of demonstrated flow measurement.

 

Additional requirements

 

·Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, fall protection etc.)

 

·Requires working around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals

 

·Requires ability to climb ladders, move or assist in moving large awkward objects, using large tools for repairing equipment which requires pushing/pulling of tools

 

·Requires operation of a personal computer.

 

·Requires use and transportation of heavy calibration and testing equipment

 

·Requires operation of a motor vehicle; Valid State Driver’s License

 

·May be called in to work overtime nights or weekends on occasion.
