POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Business Intelligence to lead our Business Intelligence team. The Director of Business Intelligence will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for data analytics and business intelligence, designing and implementing a data warehouse, and providing data-driven insights to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data warehousing, data modeling, data visualization, and data analytics.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence strategies that support organizational goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to identify business requirements for reporting, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of BI reporting solutions using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and QlikView, or other in-house solutions as necessary.
- Manage a team of BI developers, providing guidance and support on best practices, data modeling, and data visualization.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness within the BI environment by partnering with the data engineering team.
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of BI solutions to ensure optimal user experience.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging BI technologies and best practices, and recommend new tools and solutions to improve BI capabilities.
- Work with data engineering and infrastructure teams to optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval for BI purposes.
- Help develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior, and executive management on the status and progress of BI initiatives, including performance metrics, project status, andresource utilization.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity and experience building and leading the implementation of custom dashboards, self-service tools, interactive web applications etc. to provide value to stakeholders.
- Expertise in SQL query optimization and performance tuning
- Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, or SSIS
- Experience with data profiling and data quality tools such as Talend, Informatica, or IBM InfoSphere QualityStage.
- Proficiency in data visualization and BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, orQlikView.
- Familiarity with reporting and dashboarding tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, or Pentaho.
- Knowledge of database design principles and data modeling techniques.
- Experience with data profiling and data quality tools such as Talend, Informatica, or IBM InfoSphere QualityStage.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures.
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and tools such as SAS or SPSS.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies for project management.
Work Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data management and business intelligence, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Financial Technology, CIS, or related field.
- Familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts, including predictive modeling and algorithm development.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure-related tasks, such as containerization, deployment automation, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and manipulation.
- Knowledge and proficiency in various version control systems such as Git, or mercurial.
