Director of Business Intelligence $150K-$180K per year plus bonus

POSITION SUMMARY

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence strategies that support organizational goals and objectives.
2. Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to identify business requirements for reporting, dashboards, and visualizations.
3. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of BI reporting solutions using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and QlikView, or other in-house solutions as necessary.
4. Manage a team of BI developers, providing guidance and support on best practices, data modeling, and data visualization.
5. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness within the BI environment by partnering with the data engineering team.
6. Continuously monitor and improve the performance of BI solutions to ensure optimal user experience.
7. Stay up-to-date with emerging BI technologies and best practices, and recommend new tools and solutions to improve BI capabilities.
8. Work with data engineering and infrastructure teams to optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval for BI purposes.
9. Help develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.
10. Provide regular updates and reports to senior, and executive management on the status and progress of BI initiatives, including performance metrics, project status, and
    resource utilization.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

1. Familiarity and experience building and leading the implementation of custom dashboards, self-service tools, interactive web applications etc. to provide value to stakeholders.
2. Expertise in SQL query optimization and performance tuning
3. Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, or SSIS
4. Experience with data profiling and data quality tools such as Talend, Informatica, or IBM InfoSphere QualityStage.
5. Proficiency in data visualization and BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or
   QlikView.
6. Familiarity with reporting and dashboarding tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, or Pentaho.
7. Knowledge of database design principles and data modeling techniques.
8. Experience with data profiling and data quality tools such as Talend, Informatica, or IBM InfoSphere QualityStage.
9. Understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures.
10. Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
11. Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase.
12. Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and tools such as SAS or SPSS.
13. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
15. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
16. Familiarity with agile methodologies for project management.

Other Requirements:

1. Familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts, including predictive modeling and algorithm development.
2. Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
3. Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure-related tasks, such as containerization, deployment automation, and monitoring.
4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and manipulation.
5. Knowledge and proficiency in various version control systems such as Git, or mercurial.
