CardWorks Servicing ("CWS") is one of the largest privately-held provider of outsourcing services for bankcard-related products to banks and non-bank lenders in North America. CWS offers management expertise across the credit spectrum and supports both MasterCard and Visa accounts as well as a variety of private label debit, credit, stored value, and customer bankcards.

A Team Leader in the Collections Department supervises a team of consumer credit card and loan collections Specialists. The Team Leader motivates, coaches and develops their Specialists into becoming a highly responsive team capable of meeting required performance standards while minimizing collection portfolio losses. The Specialists managed are responsible for handling a combination of inbound and outbound calls to assist customers who are delinquent in the repayment of their credit cards or loans.

Essential Functions:

  • Answers questions and assists specialists with issues regarding policies and procedures
  • Interviews potential new hire candidates
  • Monitors specialists phone calls for quality purposes for compliance and accuracy
  • Handles calls that have escalated to a supervisor level
  • Provides feedback to Specialists based on their quality, productivity and attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education experience required
  • Two (2) year of related banking, credit, customer service and or collections experience required
  • A minimum of one (1) years’ CardWorks Servicing experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience desired

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Keyboarding proficiency
  • Familiarity with Windows based computer applications
  • Skilled in negotiating, including the ability to persuade and modify opinions to reach goals
  • Mathematical, analytical and decision making skills are vital to success
  • Ability to work under pressure; flexibility and willingness to work at a rapid pace
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Must possess strong systems skills; solid collection, analytical and negotiating skills and a solid knowledge of collection laws
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate both through verbal and written channels in a way that others are able to understand the information in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
  • Ability to multi-task is essential

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work is in an office environment, sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Travel is generally not required
  • This position typically reports to manager and above and supervises a group of Specialists

If this position is based in our Woodbury, Long Island office or Virtual, please note that ALL the work for this position must be performed outside of the five Boroughs of New York City.
