Analyst II, Compliance Risk
CardWorks Servicing ("CWS") is one of the largest privately-held provider of outsourcing services for bankcard-related products to banks and non-bank lenders in North America. CWS offers management expertise across the credit spectrum and supports both MasterCard and Visa accounts as well as a variety of private label debit, credit, stored value, and customer bankcards.
The Compliance Risk II Analyst is responsible for assisting in the management of risk arising from violations of federal and state laws or regulations or nonconformance with prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards. The position will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of executive complaints, validating the root cause, escalating process gaps, as needed, and producing complaint trend analysis reporting. The individual must have in-depth knowledge of consumer regulations, including servicing and debt collection processes, and the impacts of non-compliance.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in managing the Compliance Risk Assessment process, including maintaining accurate risk profile in RSA Archer, and working on risk aggregation and reporting
- Perform systems testing and implementation as required
- Assist with reviewing Compliance and company-wide policies and procedures
- Assist in the creation of Compliance training materials
- Reviews and revises executive complaint cases; validates root cause and escalates process gaps, as needed
- Analyzes operational and statistical data for complaint trends, root cause and recommends corrective action
- Assists with follow up reviews of departments to ensure remedies are properly implemented and risks of non-compliance minimized
- Assists with the development of verbal, written and executive complaint trend analysis reporting
- Builds and leverages relationships with internal departments with a focus on fostering a partnership in developing a culture of compliance
- Contributes to the Compliance Management System self-assessment process in order to maintain and enhance the program
- Responds to compliance related inquiries or issues from operational areas and escalates to department management as appropriate
- Provides regular updates to department management regarding status of compliance and risk within operations
- Assists with Regulatory Change Management process, including assessment of new and revised state and federal regulations impacting business processes; participates in the implementation of new processes as a result of regulatory changes, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required; Four (4) years of equivalent work experience is accepted in lieu of required degree
- Six (6) years in a credit card, banking, financial services or related industry, with at least (3) years in compliance, risk, audit, controls or related discipline required
- In depth knowledge of consumer regulations, including servicing and debt collection processes
- Paralegal Certification a plus

- Proficient with Windows based computer applications
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Work is in an office environment, however remote work may also be required
- Some stress may occur
- Some travel may be required
- This position typically reports to a Vice President, Assistant Vice President, or Director
