SUMMARY

 

The Sr. Network Administrator is the subject matter expert for all Information Technology products and services used by the Bank. This role supports the Bank's network and server infrastructure through research, design, implementation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance to improve the efficiency of the overall Information Technology system and the end-user experience. The Sr. Network Administrator acts as an escalation point for front-line technical staff, providing support to users in both on-site and remote settings. This position will be 3 days per week onsite and 2 days per week remote.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Acts as an escalation point for the front-line technicians to help resolve issues that may require greater knowledge and experience to remediate.
  • Researches, designs, and implements Information Technology systems to support various ongoing efforts throughout the Bank.
  • Installs, configures, and supports hardware, including, but not limited to:
    • Servers
    • Storage and data warehousing solutions
    • Desktop and Laptop computers
    • Firewalls
    • Routers
    • Switches
    • Wireless Access Points
    • Telephones
    • Door and alarm controls
    • Security Camera systems
    • Mobile devices
    • Peripheral devices
  • Installs, configures, and supports software, including, but not limited to:
    • Email and collaboration tools
    • Telephones
    • Databases
    • Data backups
    • Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM)
    • Web Application Firewalls
    • Multi-Factor Authentication platforms
    • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
    • Mobile Device Management (MDM)
  • Acts as the primary administrator of the server and network equipment, performing diagnostics, reviewing logs, and updating configurations as necessary.
  • Performs software, system, and network troubleshooting with suppliers as required to resolve issues.
  • Maintains library of all software, hardware, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensures the backup of data is performed regularly by reviewing logs and reports and performing recurring restorations of systems from backups using automated or manual methods.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of existing information systems and assist in developing new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
  • Travels to various bank locations to perform IT duties as needed.
  • Effectively communicates technical information to non-technical staff and management.
  • Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and internal company policies, including but not limited to BSA / Anti-Money Laundering, Fair Lending, Privacy, and Anti-Discrimination, to the extent each applies to current job responsibilities.
  • Completes all compliance training as assigned within specified due dates.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES

In addition to the Essential duties listed above, the Sr. Network Administrator will be responsible for the following:

  • Identifies and reports on capacity and performance trends found within the IT infrastructure.
  • Creates high-quality reports on systems as needed for management review.
  • Prepares high-quality technical diagrams including network topology and logical data flow diagrams.
  • Automates recurring tasks using PowerShell, Python, or other methods.
  • At the direction of the Information Security Officer (ISO), mitigates discovered vulnerabilities and system misconfigurations that may increase the risk of a data breach.
  • Leads and participates in large-scale project efforts.
  • Works independently and in an often unsupervised capacity.
  • Performs root cause analysis and prepares Reason for Outage (RFO) documentation.
  • Participates in and supports the Business Continuity Planning process.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

 

The position of Senior Network Administrator is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 7 years overall experience in desktop and network support.
  • Strong technical skills, and working knowledge of computer system configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft products, including, but not limited to:
    • Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
    • Office Suite
    • Teams
    • Active Directory
    • Office 365
    • Azure
  • Demonstrated experience with network elements and protocols, including, but not limited to:
    • DNS
    • TCP/IP
    • DHCP
    • FTP
    • SSH
    • SMTP
    • SNMP
    • VPN
    • RDP
    • VLANs
    • BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
  • Demonstrated experience with virtualization platforms from Microsoft and VMware, including both server and desktop virtualization.
  • Experience with network traffic analysis and the use of tools such as Wireshark.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (SSCM, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management Platforms (InTune, MaaS360, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Effective communication with users at all levels of the organization, including both technical and non-technical staff, while troubleshooting computer issues.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage, resolve issues (often remotely), and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • B.S./B.A. in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent education and work experience combined.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and logical reasoning in providing guidance verbally and in writing.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule and travel when needed.
  • Current valid Driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
