SUMMARY:

Instructors have a variety of job functions including, but not limited to, successfully leading a class through appropriately designed routines, with proper music selection to enhance overall fitness, strength, and endurance, while ensuring the safety of the members. Recording attendance is considered an after-class duty.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Conduct engaging and dynamic Barre classes for participants of all fitness levels.
  • Develop and deliver safe and effective Barre routines that focus on strength, balance, and flexibility.
  • Provide clear instructions and proper form cues during class.
  • Offer modifications and variations to accommodate individual participant needs.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive class environment that encourages client participation and retention.
  • Maintain a clean and organized fitness studio space.
  • Stay current on industry trends and continuously improve your knowledge of Barre techniques.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Certified Barre Instructor with a recognized certification (e.g., Barre Above, Barre Intensity, etc.)
  • CPR /AED and First Aid certification (Training provided by JCC if needed)
  • Previous teaching experience is a plus but not required; we welcome talented new instructors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional demeanor.

 

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is often energetic and focused on promoting physical well-being.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Physical fitness to perform and demonstrate exercises effectively.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary Range: The minimum salary for a new instructor is $25 per hour. An experienced instructor (5+ years experience) with a national group fitness certification, will start at $30.50 per hour.

Benefit & Perks: When an instructor has at least one weekly, on-going class on schedule, the JCC offers membership to the Jewish Community Center, discounts on programs including preschool and summer camp, and wellbeing programming.
