Advanced Supply Chain International (ASCI) is currently seeking applicants to be considered for an Inventory Specialist position based in Leesburg, Virginia. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the inventory management project. The Inventory Specialist will be directly involved in inspecting the inventory and warehouse facilities. The Specialist will play a key role in developing effective processes and procedures related to warehouse and inventory management. A significant portion (at least 30%) of this position will be dedicated to creating and/or editing warehouse and inventory policy documents. Overall, the Inventory Specialist will be instrumental in driving efficient inventory management practices, optimizing warehouse operations, and establishing robust policies to streamline processes and ensure accurate inventory control. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to formulate a detailed warehouse and inventory management plan. 
  • Assess the condition, accuracy, and organization of inventory items, as well as evaluating the overall efficiency of the warehouse operations. 
  • Identify areas for improvement, devising new protocols, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Work closely with the client to engage in optimization activities. These efforts may include analyzing data, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing strategies to maximize inventory utilization and minimize waste. 
  • Developing guidelines and policies to ensure consistent and standardized warehouse and inventory management practices throughout the organization. 
  • Attend periodic progress meetings, and develop and lead presentations as needed. 

 

Qualifications & Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, accounting, business, supply chain management or logistics preferred. Strong math, accounting, statistical and analytical skills required. 
  • A minimum of five (3) of experience in inventory management and warehousing. 
  • Two (2) or more years of policy and procedure development experience is preferred. 
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel and Power Point
