Electro-Mechanical Technician - Entry Level, Hourly, Full Time, onsite
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will work with Engineers to test new products, troubleshoot problems with sensors and systems. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Determines and/or follows method sheets and assembly drawings in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, mechanical assembly of test fixtures and systems.
- Construct, maintain and test electrical and mechanical systems.
- Use measuring and diagnostic tools to test and modify electronic parts.
- Ensure systems and components meet established specifications.
- Assemble and trouble shoot mechanical test and assembly hardware and fixtures.
- Perform basic electronic evaluations and documenting findings.
- Work with circuit board-specific tools such as soldering irons, calipers, multimeters, etc.
- Assemble circuit boards by reading schematics and electronic diagrams.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to demonstrate basic deductive analysis skills to diagnose problems and work independently to resolve them.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Experience troubleshooting analog and digital, based circuits.
- Understanding and utilizing schematics and procedures.
- Working knowledge of general test equipment, such as power supplies, power meters, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
- Ability to solder and assemble test related printed circuit boards.
- Strong understanding of personal computer applications and general PC literacy.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma
- Preferred one year of related training at vocational school or community college.
- Two years of on-the-job training in a technician role preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or test system.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to differentiate wire and cable colors as well as various audible tones.
