Albright College is seeking applications for Associate Director of Financial Aid. The Associate Director of Financial Aid provides leadership and professional service to students, families and staff, to promote their understanding and access to financial aid opportunities. The position reports to the Director of Financial Aid and serves as the supervisor of the office in the Director’s absence. The Associate Director also serves primary coordinator of the School of Professional Studies and Graduate programs.


 


This individual will also serve as a liaison with the Financial Aid Systems Operations Manager and will assist with the day to day automated processes in the Financial Aid Office. Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to enhancing equity and inclusion within the team and across a culturally diverse campus while celebrating people of all statuses and identities.


 


Essential Job Functions:


1.Manage the federal verification of FAFSA/ISIR data, and packaging of students in the School of Professional Studies (SPS) programs.


2.Manage the processing of financial aid for the Study Abroad Programs.


3.Manage the Pennsylvania State Grants and Special Programs and non-PA grant programs, including state grant roster management.


4.Assist the Financial Aid Systems Operation Manager as needed with the processing of data uploads/downloads and imports/exports relating to the financial aid module within the Student Information System (SIS) Powerfaids.


5.Assists the Director with the review of academic and financial appeals.


6.Oversees the update and annual review of the Policy and Procedures Manual to ensure compliance.


7.Participates in all audits of the Title IV aid programs prescribed by the United States Department of Education and/or the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.


8.Assists in resolving any audit findings and implements permanent corrective action where necessary.


9.Counsels students and families regarding the financial aid application process, aid eligibility, and financial aid award letters specifics.


10.Conducts on and off campus financial aid workshops for students, families, guidance counselors, and other interested constituencies.


11.Attend yearly conferences for professional development.


12.Performs other duties as required.


 


Qualifications/Prerequisites:


1.COMMUNICATION



a.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.


b.Ability to train and motivate entry level financial aid staff members.



2.SKILLS



a.Working knowledge of all Title IV and state aid program regulations.


b.Experience in financial aid counseling and enrollment management strategic planning.


c.Ability to work across college departmental/divisional lines.


d.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.


e.Working knowledge of aid management systems - Powerfaids preferred.


f.Working knowledge of admission CRM systems - SLATE preferred.


g.Well-developed financial aid problem solving skill set


h.Working knowledge of admission recruiting in a tuition-driven enrollment environment.


i.Working knowledge current Veterans Administration education benefits.


j.Working knowledge of IT system/ aid system integration challenges and solutions.


k.Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.


l.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.

3.EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE



a.At least five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, with preference in financial aid.


b.Expertise with a SIS system is essential to this position, with preference in Powerfaids.


c.Working knowledge of admission CRM systems – SLATE preferred.


d.Well- developed financial aid problem solving skill set


e.Working knowledge of admission recruiting in a tuition-driven enrollment environment.


f.Working knowledge of IT system/aid system integration challenges and solutions.



4.EDUCATION



a.Bachelor’s degree required
