Laboratory Coordinator for Pre-College and Summer Programs

Albright College is seeking applications for a Laboratory Coordinator for Pre-College and Summer Programs. Reporting to the Director, Pre-College and Summer Programs, the Laboratory Coordinator serves to provide laboratory and organizational support for Pre-College and Summer Programs. This individual will manage the laboratories and supplies for Pre-College and Summer Programs, use effective mentorship skills in working with students and teachers in the lab, and solves day-to-day problems based on College policy and procedures.
The candidate will be responsible for duties that support Pre-College and Summer Program laboratory initiatives including (but not limited to): strategy and overall coordination of the laboratory schedule, supply coordination/ordering, laboratory processes and equipment procedures, creative problem solving, project management and operational support for laboratories, and completing meeting minutes as requested.
In addition, the Laboratory Coordinator for Pre-College and Summer Programs performs a variety of assistant teaching duties for K to 12th grade students, works independently, and should be committed to maintaining confidentiality of student projects. Essential Job Functions:
1.Provides laboratory management support for the Director of Pre-College and Summer Programs.
2.Provides laboratory administrative support including lab process strategy and supply management, organization, and ordering.
3.Facilitate research development and equipment training in student programming, graduate courses and professional development of Pre-College and Summer Programs.
4.Assist in Strategically support Pre-College and Summer Programs and Albright College by integrating best practice research models, and structures for peer network engagement and retention.
5.Provides laboratory information to enrolled or prospective students and parents.
6.Directs and completes special laboratory projects as assigned by the Director in support of the college mission, which may include creative problem solving, project management, and working with multiple departments.
7.Maintains a high level of confidentiality related to all materials received, reviewed, and discussed in relation to student projects.
8.Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Pre-College and Summer Programs to support the needs of the Pre-College and Summer Programs.

5.EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
a.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Science Research Institute and/or Total Experience Learning educational environments.
b.Experience in educational settings preferred.
c.Ability to lead with a demonstrated commitment to the mission, values, and institutional priorities of an organization and the personal growth of colleagues.
d.The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, solve problems, handle confidential information, and navigate sensitive situations.

6.EDUCATION
a.A bachelor’s degree in a science or related field highly recommended.
b.Laboratory or related research experience highly recommended.
