Senior DevOps Engineer

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be part of a group responsible for designing, building, automating, monitoring, fixing, and enhancing all of the infrastructure and tools used by our engineering organization and to run our SaaS-based Application.

Duties/Responsibilities/Primary Function:

List the essential job duties that are specific to the position.

• Designing, configuring, and growing our AWS and containerized infrastructure
• Being a part of the overall development team working at that blurry line between application and infrastructure
• Expanding and improving our container orchestration environment (Kubernetes / AWS EKS)
• Creating automation and developing infrastructure-as-code
• Improving our continuous integration and deployment system
• Enhancing our monitoring platform
• Assisting with infrastructure support, security, monitoring, and incident response
• Participating in a business-hours on-call rotation

Required Skills/Abilities/Profile:

• Strong working knowledge of AWS services including Cloudformation, Lambda functions, EC2 Autoscaling, IAM, VPC management, Cloudwatch, and Cloudtrail
• Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
• Experience using, building, and supporting continuous integration systems, especially Jenkins
• Experience with linux containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, AWS EKS)
• Software development / substantial scripting experience including following an SDLC (Python preferred)
• Use of monitoring solutions including logs, metrics, synthetic transactions, and site performance as well as conducting infrastructure capacity and load tests
• Experience treating infrastructure as code, working in an agile environment, and using revision versioning systems (git)
• Prior experience in a senior technical role producing high quality software and services by leading code reviews, advocating for technical standards, and proposing improvements to the overall SDLC
